Names for BoFII characters

Now seeing as some characters from the Japanese version have last names as it appears, kind of like Ryu Bateson and since we have his full name not present in the English version should be rename characters like Rand to Rand Marks, Nina and Mina to Nina and Mina Wyndia, etc...

I really gotta figure this out, we got some pages with the full names only present in the Japanese version (which is the more correct version when it comes to naming stuff) and then we have the names present in the other versions. Theres things like the Ryu Bateson page which his surname is only present in the Japanese version, and then pages like Nina (Breath of Fire II) where we have only the English name (Her full name is Nina Wyndia)

Now should we stick to the Engish names but mention the Japanese full name like I did on the Sten page or go full Japanese names, this will make the Ryu Bateson page just Ryu (Breath of Fire II) and such, but then theres the issue with names that are totally different like Katt which was a made up name in the non-Japanese games, Jean and Spar also where changed due to the character limit.

I think we should go with what Sten page but I need a second opinon on this before I do it.

Stick to using the English names (for characters like Katt and Bleu) but make sure to reference the original Japanese names. I think Ryu keeping his last name works for him, and helps distinguish him from the other Ryu's but I don't think Nina's would since she's always associated with Wyndia and I wouldn't be surprised if it was her surname in the first four games if we checked every Japanese source.

I'm sure most people checking out this site know the English translation the best; so it would probably be more of a pain to actually keep the Japanese names and make people frustrated because they only know Katt as Katt and not Rinpoo.

I agree with the above statement, we should keep the names as is. While those who are more familiar with both versions will know both names, for the most part, most people who seach up Breath of Fire won't. While for Ryu it is a somewhat good idea, since he is probably the only Ryu with a known surname (I might be wrong, since I haven't tapped into the series as of late), but ones like Nina are pretty obvious, as her last name is probably consistant throughout the series. Rand and Sten might be okay, but it's kinda of a toss-up. As for names like Katt, people will only really know her as Katt, not Rinpoo, so it's better not to go that way.

So, overall, while it could work well in the wikia's favor, people who search up this stuff won't know the difference. So its probably better just to leave it alone. The English names are more than enough, especially for those who don't know much about the Japanese version. So let's just leave it the way it is. It's worked this long, right? So why mess with it? That's my two cents on the subject.

I'll just do what I did for the Sten page then, maybe rename the Ray Bradoc page since his last name is only in the Japanese version but since keeping Ryu as Ryu with his last name I'll keep it like that.
