Soniel is a non-playable character that appears in Breath of Fire IV.
Role in Breath of Fire IV[]
A cowardly man who lacks in dignity, Soniel is the 13th Emperor of the Fou Empire.
Unwilling to give up his throne to the reawakened God Emperor Fou-Lu, he attempts to kill him with the Dragon Slayer after he enters the palace in Chedo. While he succeeds in wounding him and gloats about his perceived victory, the attack is not enough to kill Fou-Lu, who proceeds to behead him and reclaim his throne.
Trivia[]
- Soniel's death is cut out of the English versions of the game. In the Japanese version where the scene would end in the English version it would continue. The screen goes red with nothing but the black silhouettes of Soniel and Fou-lu; Fou-lu rips the sword out from him and throws it aside, then proceeds to decapitate Soniel.
