Hideki Kamiya (神谷 英樹 Kamiya Hideki, born December 19, 1970) is a video game designer formerly employed by Capcom and Clover Studio. He is currently working as a game director at Platinum Games. His first task at Capcom was aiding in the development of Breath of Fire II in 1994. His most popular works include Resident Evil on which he served as planner, and Resident Evil 2 which he directed. He was later the director of both Devil May Cry and the original Viewtiful Joe. In 2006, Kamiya worked as the director for Clover Studio's Okami .
Kamiya made minor contributions to the development of Breath of Fire II, designing the "Angel" spell and naming two of the game's monsters, Dokodon and Megyan. These names were lifted from onomatopoeias found in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.
