Kimiko is a non-playable character who appears in Breath of Fire III. She is the wife of Ecarl, which represents one of the few instances of inter-tribe marriage within the series. She has a human daughter named Miyuki, however it is unclear whether Ecarl is Miyuki's biological father.
Role in Breath of Fire III[]
Kimiko is the wife of Ecarl. While he is a painter, she is a renowned shisu chef, who agrees to teach the party how to prepare the dish so that they can win the favor of the Parch's Mayor. After speaking to her for the first time, a new fishing spot will appear just outside of Maekyss Gorge. Fishing here will allow the party to acquire Mackerel, one of the ingredients of shisu. Once the party has obtained all of the ingredients, Kimiko walks them through the process, even sharing her personal recipe with them.
Etymology[]
Prior to the game's release, Capcom of Japan held a contest in which the winners would have a game character named after them. This character is named after contest winner Kimiko Kobayashi.
