- "Enough. What's done is done. Regardless of what happened, I owe you my thanks, Chief Cray. As you have probably discovered for yourself, our neighbor and supposed ally Ludia is more worried about their relationship with the Empire than in helping me search for my daughter. However, in spite of all obstacles, not the least of which being your responsibilities as leader of the Woren nation, you chose to search for her yourself... Not many other men could do what you did."
- — The King to Cray
King of Wyndia is a non-playable character who appears in Breath of Fire IV. He is the father of Nina and Elina and the current monarch of Wyndia, one of the member states of the Eastern Alliance.
Role in Breath of Fire IV[]
The king is first met when Ryu, Nina, Cray, Ershin and Scias flee from Ludia, seeking refuge and counsel from the king. He is well aware of the political implications that occur regarding the fragile alliance between Ludia, Worent and Wyndia on the Eastern Continent and the Fou Empire on the Western Continent. Should Cray be executed, this would spark unrest among the Woren, leading to war among the eastern alliance partners, weakening the fragile alliance as it is.
As a father however, he seems to care for his daughters Elina and Nina above his difficult administrative duties as a king. He provides aid to the party, offers them shelter, and promises to handle the situation with Ludia after they free Cray.
