Mt. Zublo is a location within Breath of Fire III, where it serves as a natural barrier between the Rhapala Region and the Urkan Region. There are two routes across it: a safe road that goes around the exterior, and a disused tunnel system built by the Porter's Guild that passes through the volcano's interior.

A shrine is built into the foot of the Rhapalan side of the mountain.

Story[]

During the Child Chapters, a volcanic eruption has covered the external road in lava and rendered it impassible. Seeing this, Ryu and the party initially try to reach the Urkan Region by taking a boat from Rhapala. Despite solving the problem at the Lighthouse and dealing with the Dolphin that was harassing the Faeries, the boat still fails to return. In return for all their help, Guildmaster Sinkar grants the party permission to use the Guild's old cargo route through the interior of Mt. Zublo.

As the party traverses the dangerous path that weaves through the volcano, they encounter Gisshan, Charyb & Scylla, who block them just shy of the exit, between two pools of lava. Gisshan babbles about avenging the dead that rest in Angel Tower before attacking the party. Once he and his "partners" are slain, the party can freely enter and exit the volcano at will.

During the Adolescent Chapters, Ryu and co must travel to the Urkan Region once again. Like the previous time, the boat is not available, but the road has since been cleared, allowing the party to bypass the volcano without needing to use the inner road. Mt. Zublo must always be visited whenever the party needs to travel between Rhapala and Urkan by foot.

After Ryu kills Gaist and frees Deis, they are instructed to meet her in the shrine just outside of Mt. Zublo. After meeting her for the first time at this location, she cannot be visited again until after the party crosses the Outer Sea and returns, at which point she becomes a Master.
