Strategy[]
Rocky may prove a difficult encounter as it has robust HP and decent attack and speed. Rocky will regularly use Jump which inflicts random, yet potentially large damage to a single target, and every 3 turns will use Ovum, a most peculiar ability that can transform one unit into an egg, rendering them unable to act for some turns, but will restore their full HP when the status ceases.
It is recommended the party be at least at level 7 before facing Rocky. The player can have Rei use Pilfer in an attempt to steal a Life Shard, although the chance of successfully obtaining the item is slight and Pilfer will make Rei deal less damage than a standard attack. Teepo should use spells, Simoon in particular as it can deal upwards 60 damage. It is recommended to have Ryu learn Jump in this battle as he will have the most use of this skill out of the three for a significant portion of the game. Once learned, the player can have Ryu use Jump against Rocky. Snap is also an effective skill to use if the player had previously learned it from Pooch. If neither Jump or Snap is an option, then then have Ryu act in a supportive capacity using the likes of Heal or Protect. Rocky should fall before long.
