Thunders can be dangerous when in large groups of Volts as they never attack on their own. They will always use Jolt on themselves and the Volts, powering the Volts up and allowing them access to their own Jolt spell which, when in groups of at least 3, can deal heavy damage to the party. Due to Thunders having high Agility when the first appear in the game (Castle Wyndia's catacombs), it's hard to take them out before they power up the Volts. However, they share the same weakness to Holy, so if one is equipped with a Silver Knife, then destroying them becomes extremely easy, as one blow is all it takes to take them out, regardless of the player's Power. Simoon is another useful technique against them, but it's not the most reliable, as it leaves a chance of it surviving. Typhoon is a much better option, though by that point the Thunders and Volts loose some of their potency.
