- "All right then! I will let you ride on zee sandflier, as I promised! And, I will give you zee VIP room, eh?"
- — Marlok to party before crossing
The Wharf is a location in Breath of Fire IV. It is an important trade harbor. It serves as both storage and loading area for sandfliers, which transport goods from this point across the continent, including into enemy territory.
Role in Breath of Fire IV[]
Ryu, Cray and Ershin visit the wharf for the first time when helping out the dubious merchant Marlok in Synesta. He was involved in Elina's disappearance and serves as a lead to her whereabouts. Nina helps Marlok as a maid while the party performs chores for him. Upon their completion, Marlok proceeds to smuggle them across the border into enemy territory in a special "VIP Room", a cargo crate.
Cargo Loading Minigame[]
The tasks at the wharf involve clearing a warehouse and loading cargo crates onto a sandflier. Marlok and Nina eventually arrive after the party has duly performed their tasks assigned. The cargo loading minigame can be repeated as often as desired and, upon completion, the player is awarded game points, which are required for upgrading certain dragon forms. It is a good grinding opportunity. Based on the player's performance in the minigames, Marlok will reward the player with either a Straw, Spoon, or Fork. The Fork item potentially received from Marlok is part of the Silverware sidequest in Wyndia.
